Elene Rusetskaia

Elene Rusetskaia is an author of many project ideas in the field of women’s rights and gender issues.

She was an initiator of establishing gender information portal which has been functioning for 11 years supporting promotion of gender issues and public awareness in Georgia and South Caucasus.

Elene Rusetskaia is actively involved in the formation of gender policy in Georgia. She takes part in various processes, including improvement of gender equality institutional machinery at central, as well as local level.

She is an adviser of Global Fund for Women from Georgia and Women’s Fund in Georgia. She is a board member of GEF Small Grants Programme, as well as the member of international network Women Against Violence Europe (WAVE), board member of the Network of East-West Woman (NEWW), member of experts’ group "Forming of the Gender Politics of Georgia". In 2014, she has been elected as a member with deliberative voting right of Interagency Coordination Council of Georgia on Human Rights Governmental Action Plan, what entitles her to lobby gender issues on behalf of women’s organizations at policy implementation level. She was a member of State Committee on Gender Equality. Elene Rusetskaia is an author of many researches and works. She worked on the topics such as Women, Peace and Security, women’s political engagement, monitoring of national commitments, etc.

She is an author of published works such as “Gender Evaluation in Georgia” (2012) – supported by World Vision, guide “on promoting women’s engagement in political parties” implemented in the frame of OSCE/ODIHR project “Women in Political Parties”, mapping research in Georgia in the frame of cross-regional programme “Women Connect Across Conflicts”, establishing accountabilities for implementation of UN SCR 1325, 1820, 1888, 1889 (with the support of UN Women, 2011-2012), etc.

At different times, she was the expert of organizations such as OSCE/ODIHR, World Vision, EU, UN Woman, etc.
