The Project -Strengthening Tbilisi’s Municipality Gender Policywas supportedby UNDP. Project implementation period was six month and it was continuation of the process, which was started in the previous years with support of OXFAM GB in Georgia.

Project has supported Tbilisi Municipality to fulfill international and national obligations in terms of gender equality. Tbilisi Sakrebulo has adopted Tbilisi’s Municipality gender equality strategy, whichwas proposedby the Mayor office. Tbilisi Municipality’s gender equality strategy was formed with inclusion of all stakeholders and CSO representatives.

Based on the adopted gender equality strategy the gender equality action plan was drafted for the municipality with participation of Tbilisi’s Municipality Gender equality council members, Mayor Office representatives and responsible persons on gender equality from Tbilisi’s Regional Gamgeoba. All decision makers and members of the council has agreed on the importance of the gender equality action plan but the adoption process was delayed due to the technical processes and upcoming local government election which was held in October 2017.

In the framework of the project, several working meetings and workshops were held for decision makers and gender equality council’s members.
